People ImpactedProgram Overview
Every March 22nd, Waves For Water Philippines participates at the United Nations Conference-incepted World Water Day. The celebration brings attention to the importance of fresh, clean water, as well as serving as an advocacy platform for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. In early March 2018, Waves For Water Philippines will embark on a boat expedition between El Nido and Coron. The voyage will span 150 kilometers and cover 300 islands, documenting the astounding beauty of the archipelago but more importantly highlighting the plight of Northern Palawan island communities and their need for access to clean water.
Layag, Filipino for ‘to sail’, brings us to the most remote islands of the country where the ocean is the biggest challenge to provide these island communities the basic necessities including clean water. We thank our sponsors Bestank, Ito Kish, 2GO, OLLI, Henry’s Camera, Zhiyun and RODE.
