So as you all know, our planet is facing some of the most significant crises to date, with the amazon on fire, political uprisings and one of the most devastating hurricanes ever recorded. It is time we step out of our bubble and take action to help those in need. The project we are pitching today is a way to save the lives of people who need it most. The Bahamas is facing a severe crisis with death tolls rising and over 70’000 people left without homes after hurricane Dorian recently devoured the islands. The Bahamas is a sovereign nation meaning that there is no outside help from foreign countries, which leaves the survival of these people up to us. With thousands displaced, deprived of food and clean water, we need to come together as a community and give back. The level of destruction and loss with Dorian is almost unfathomable. Sure, we all see reports on the news and the visuals are astonishing, making us stop in our tracks when we see them. However, they are still once removed, being digested through a screen which will never do justice to the actual severity of what it is really like — the sounds, the smells, the heat, the utter terror.

Our goal is to raise $1000. This money will go towards the Waves for Water Foundation, which is helping to provide safe water through the implementation of water filtration systems, crucial in preventing the spread of waterborne illnesses. This is only possible with our help, they already have relief teams on the ground scouting for wells, and the more we help, the more water filtration systems can be put into action. Time is of the essence, so please consider contributing to this cause, anything helps.
