Mission Lisbon> Sumatra 2014

Lisbon , LISBON PT

Project Overview

We are 10 friends going on a surfing boat trip along Sumatra and nearby famous surf spots.

In order to thank nature and Indonesia for the fantastic waves we hope to get we are taking with us 50 water filters to be delivered to remote villages suffering from water contamination - teaming up with waves 4 water.

People living in impoverished areas die every day from drinking dirty water. While having access to clean water is a luxury that many of us take for granted, there are millions living in nations with no filtration systems in place. Kids drink from the same streams where animals bathe. In addition, there's no clean water available for surgery if someone is injured, putting the wounded at risk of deathly infections.

With these filters, dirty water becomes instantly clean – and drinkable. Lives are saved.

We will be aboard Gonçalo Ruivo´s "Nauli" and the team of water filter couriers will be Miguel Herédia, Francisco Borges de Carvalho, Vasco Canto Moniz, Martim Tomé, Miguel Spínola, Pedro Neto Rebelo, Francisco Roque Pinho, Francisco Matos Chaves, Tiago Lemos and Frederico Roquette.
