Ch.2 Project Puerto Rico
Chapter 2: With all the generosity from the first chapter, here we go...ch.2
Our fundraiser is continuing with the support of the Buddy Pelletier Surf Foundation to aid relief in Puerto Rico, specifically to the West side of the Island. We have already hosted 2 surf nights, one at King Neptune in Wrightsville Beach and one at the Skate Barn in Hampstead. Together, we have accomplished collecting non perishable goods, donations of $5000 to the Samaritans Purse, $1250 to W4W for 25 liters, and $4150 to the Buddy Pelletier Foundation for purchasing goods and donating directly to Pastor David in Aguadilla at a local church, Evangelica de Amor.
The support provided has enabled the local church to continue their well project to get a more consistent water supply for the local community. Through the support provided, they have been able to establish a staging area that has caught the eye of the Border Patrol in Puerto Rico, which they will partnering with for distributing goods. We are currently sending Water Filters along with tarps to help with improving living conditions as advised and requested by the local church.
There are going to be a few more surf nights from Morehead City to Wilmington to create awareness and to generate additional donations for the people down there in need. So keep an eye out ;). We are partnering with the Samaritan's Purse to deliver goods to PR on their next trip.
Thank you all for making a big difference and helping those in need. Whatever the future holds, I pray God guides and leads with each step we take. Trusting in the Lord during these times is difficult, especially when things don't make sense. When you are unsure about what direction to take, it's an opportunity for you to trust in God, lean on him and see him move. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he will direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6.
Please pray for PR and God's direction for me. With the faith the size of a mustard seed, we can move mountains...and as Surfers,we can ride them!
